The Alghero area is a paradise for nature lovers, since it includes the Porto Conte Nature Reserve and the Capo Caccia/Isola Piana Marine Protected Area. Moreover, you can also pay a visit to the protected forest known as the Arca di Noè (’Noah’s Ark’), where you can admire majestic griffon vultures and Sardinian ponies and donkeys, as well as a plethora of rare species of vegetation. It is also very easy for you to visit Sardinia’s inland areas, where the breathtaking landscapes and flora and fauna are sure to make an indelible impression on you.
The famous Caves of Neptune are an absolute must-see. These caves can be reached on the boat that departs from the tourist port of Alghero or via the Escala del Cabirol, a steep but picturesque flight of steps on the Capo Caccia promontory.
Lovers of the deep can book scuba dives that involve visiting the glorious seabed of the bay and the fascinating undersea caves. In addition, you can take boat trips in search of the area’s most beautiful beaches and reefs.
The Nuraghe at Palmavera, the Anghelu Ruju Necropolis and other highly significant archaeological sites are all located within striking distance of the hotel. A guided tour of the city is utterly essential, since the historical centre plays host to myriad architectural and historical treasures. The workshops where the famous Alghero red coral is processed are another must-see. The city’s Catalan origins are evident in the local dialect, in the street names and in the local cuisine.
The Alghero area is also renowned for its farm produce and food and wine. You have the option to visit the highly respected wineries of Sella & Mosca and Santa Maria La Palma, and on request you can take a trip to the local olive groves, oil mills, bakeries, confectioners and dairies. Moreover, if you like, we can book the best restaurants and agrotourisms on your behalf.
